CM Revanth Reddy Inspects Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad, Orders Cleanup

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inspected the ongoing suspension bridge works at Mir Alam Tank in Hyderabad on Thursday, August 27, 2026, and directed authorities to take steps to stop sewage from entering the water body.

Mr. Reddy, who also holds the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) portfolio, instructed officials to widen the lake to ensure floodwaters can discharge smoothly into the Musi river. During the site visit, officials presented images to explain the current progress of the bridge works to the Chief Minister.

In addition to pollution control and flood mitigation, Mr. Reddy directed officials to plan water sports activities and develop the island situated within the lake. Pointing out that Mir Alam Tank is located close to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, the Chief Minister stated that the site should be well equipped to draw tourists.
