CM Revanth Reddy Challenges KCR to Assembly Debate on 10-Year BRS Rule

HYDERABAD — Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has challenged opposition leader and BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao to attend the Telangana Legislative Assembly for an open debate comparing the 10-year BRS rule with the 1,000-day performance of the current government.

Speaking at a public meeting in Hyderabad after inaugurating a city bridge, the Chief Minister criticised KCR for failing to attend legislative proceedings and remaining confined to his farmhouse. He called for a six-day protest demanding KCR's resignation, including a major demonstration scheduled at Indira Park on September 6, ahead of the Assembly session.

Revanth Reddy noted that KCR has drawn Rs 1.24 crore in salary while the state spent Rs 22 crore on security and other facilities for the opposition leader over 1,000 days. He questioned why KCR had not met with farmers, women, students, or marginalized communities during this time, stating that ordinary government employees are dismissed if they fail to report for duty for a year.

The Chief Minister also criticized the previous administration for political nepotism and questioned land holdings linked to the BRS leadership, including farmhouses in Janwada. He highlighted his administration's social welfare initiatives, such as issuing ration cards, providing fine-quality rice to 3.48 crore people, spending Rs 3,500 crore under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, and initiating construction of a new Osmania Hospital at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore alongside seven lakh Indiramma houses across the state.

Additionally, Revanth Reddy announced the naming of several public institutions: TIMS Alwal will be named after former Chief Minister T. Anjaiah, TIMS LB Nagar after Konda Laxman Bapuji, and the Warangal super-specialty hospital after Professor Jayashankar.
