CM Revanth Reddy Blames Ministers as Telangana Faces 21 Percent Voter Roll Loss

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on Thursday that Telangana was set to lose 21 per cent of its votes in the ongoing special intensive revision of electoral rolls, directing Congress leaders and in-charge ministers to step in immediately to safeguard eligible voters.

Addressing a virtual meeting of the state Congress unit, the Chief Minister placed direct responsibility on in-charge ministers and instructed them to conduct field visits and hold district-level review meetings over the next two days to examine the ground situation.

Expressing serious concern over the deletion of lakhs of voter names, Revanth Reddy told district Congress presidents to collect details of voters marked for deletion directly from election authorities. He instructed party functionaries to take concrete steps to ensure every eligible voter remains on the final rolls.

Under the plan outlined during the meeting, Assembly constituency in-charges have been directed to remain stationed in their respective constituencies for four days. During this period, they are expected to identify local issues related to the revision process and resolve them in coordination with booth-level workers.

Revanth Reddy attributed the large-scale deletions to lapses across the party hierarchy, noting that those responsible from in-charge ministers down to the booth level had failed to discharge their duties effectively. He said the ministers must immediately convene review sessions with Parliamentary and Assembly constituency in-charges across their designated districts.

The Chief Minister also urged party leaders to publicly highlight what he described as a conspiracy by the BJP and BRS to remove voters from the rolls. Citing directives from the All India Congress Committee, he warned that failing to execute a robust action plan would cause significant political damage to the party in upcoming elections.
