CM Revanth Reddy Announces Tourism and Eco-Park Upgrades for Telangana

On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy chaired a high-level review meeting at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion in Hyderabad to outline major initiatives for boosting the state's tourism sector. The plans focus on transforming key sites like Taramati Baradari, Durgam Cheruvu, and Vikarabad into major tourism hubs, alongside developing urban forest projects and eco-parks.

The meeting was attended by CM Advisor Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, CMO Chief Secretary Seshadri, Principal Secretary Sridhar, Tourism Secretary Vani Prasad, and Tourism Corporation MD Gauthami.

During the review, Chief Minister Reddy directed officials to develop Taramati Baradari and Durgam Cheruvu into full-fledged tourism hubs. He also called for the modernization of the Manjeera and Dilkusha guest houses to improve accommodation facilities.

Under the Tourism Hub Development scheme, the Chief Minister instructed authorities to focus on developing Vikarabad as a major destination. He proposed developing the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Vikarabad on the lines of Yadadri, which will include the formation of a dedicated temple committee.

To promote eco-tourism, Reddy directed that forest lands under Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits be developed in coordination with the Forest Department. He suggested creating eco-parks across the city modeled after the Gurramguda Eco Park. Furthermore, he proposed developing forest areas in the proposed Future City to international standards and appointing a special officer to oversee these urban forest projects.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the development of Purana Pul and other heritage bridges into tourist attractions, complete with improved visitor facilities and potential traffic diversion options to enhance access.

Additionally, Reddy directed officials to begin preparations for the upcoming Global Investment Summit in December, instructing them to set up inter-departmental committees to ensure coordination.
