Class 10 Student Assaulted by 12 Peers at Dammaiguda School Hostel

A tenth-standard student was allegedly assaulted by a group of 12 fellow students inside a corporate school hostel in Dammaiguda, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, on Sunday night. The victim, Abhishek, who is a native of Kamareddy, sustained serious injuries during the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to his parents, the group of students beat Abhishek with sticks and plates during the assault. They further alleged that the senior students stamped on his face with their shoes while targeting him in the name of ragging inside the school hostel premises.

Following the incident, the school management contacted Abhishek's parents over the phone and claimed that their son had fallen from a staircase and suffered injuries. Upon receiving the call from the school, his parents rushed to the campus in Dammaiguda and brought him home.

As his physical condition was serious, his family subsequently shifted him to a hospital for medical care. Once at the facility, the student revealed to his parents that he had not fallen from a staircase, but had instead been attacked by senior students who targeted him under the pretext of ragging.

Based on the student's statement, the parents approached local police officials and lodged a formal complaint seeking strict legal action against all individuals responsible for the assault. The parents also alleged that the corporate school management deliberately tried to suppress the incident and hide the reality of the assault by offering a different account of how the injuries were sustained.

The victim's family has demanded stringent action against the 12 students involved in the attack, as well as against the school management for allegedly concealing the facts of the assault. Police have officially taken up an investigation into the matter, probing the ragging allegations as well as evaluating the role played by the school management.
