CJP Demands Police Patrolling Near Moula Ali Govt High School Over Safety Concerns

Safety concerns along an isolated railway stretch near the Government High School in Moula Ali were highlighted on Thursday during a visit by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Telangana under its "School Theek Karo" campaign. The group raised alarms over antisocial elements gathering near abandoned railway quarters located along the route students use.

The school, which accommodates roughly 500 students, is bordered by overgrown grass, accumulated waste, and deserted railway quarters. CJP volunteers alleged that individuals gather in the area to consume alcohol and drugs, creating safety hazards for students walking to and from the premises.

The school's headmaster acknowledged the problem along the external stretch during discussions with the team. He noted that measures have already been implemented, including ensuring girls do not leave alone, requiring students to move in groups, and having parents collect female students. Female teachers also regularly brief students on safety and advise them to report any incidents.

Due to a flyover and adjusted bus routes, some children are dropped farther away and must walk approximately 500 metres to reach the school. The headmaster had earlier arranged a dedicated RTC bus service through Prajavani to support students, which has been operating around school hours for about a year.

CJP volunteer Gary Mathews praised the school's internal management, midday meals, and water facilities, but demanded regular police patrolling along the external stretch during opening and closing hours. CJP also sought intervention from senior police officers and the State's EAGLE team to inspect substance abuse in the abandoned quarters, noting that railway authorities must clear vegetation and secure the property.

The visiting team was unable to interact directly with students after failing to secure clearance from the District Educational Officer in Malkajgiri. CJP volunteers said they would give authorities approximately 10 days to respond to the issues before planning their next steps.
