CISF Jawan Injured in Accidental Gunfire at NTPC in Peddapally

PEDDAPALLY — A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) head constable sustained a bullet injury after a weapon accidentally discharged at the CISF headquarters in NTPC, Peddapally, on Saturday night.

The incident occurred while another constable, identified by police as Tinku, was cleaning a weapon. During the cleaning process, the firearm went off accidentally, striking Head Constable Srinivas.

Following the accidental discharge, Srinivas was immediately rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical attention. He was later transferred to a hospital in Karimnagar for better treatment. Police authorities have stated that the injury sustained by the head constable is non-life-threatening.

Local police are currently investigating the incident at the CISF headquarters to establish the exact sequence of events that led to the accidental weapon fire.
