Chidvilash Sai Surapaneni Wins A2H Open Rapid Chess Tournament In Hyderabad

FIDE-rated chess player Chidvilash Sai Surapaneni won the A2H Open Rapid Prize Money Chess Tournament in Hyderabad on June 29, 2026. Surapaneni secured the championship title following a highly competitive tournament.

Surapaneni finished the competition level on five points with fellow FIDE-rated competitor Srujan Keerthan Solleti. While both players accumulated the same number of points throughout the tournament, Surapaneni was declared the overall winner of the event by virtue of securing a superior tie-break score. Solleti was subsequently awarded the second-place finish in the tournament standings.

Yashvi Jain also secured a podium finish at the event, coming in third place behind the two leading players.

The tournament organizers released the final standings of the top ten players following the conclusion of the matches. Rishi Pallagani finished the competition in fourth place, just outside the top three podium spots.

In fifth place was Kandi Santosh Sai Karthik, while P Hariram Saikrishna secured the sixth position in the final rankings.

The remaining spots in the top ten were filled by DSSU Sathwik in seventh place, followed by Kumaran Charan in eighth place. Nithik Reddy Bhavanam finished in ninth place, and Moate Advik Reddy rounded out the top ten by securing the tenth position.

Both of the top two finishers, Surapaneni and Solleti, hold official FIDE ratings, highlighting the competitive level of the rapid chess event held in the city. The event concluded with Surapaneni taking home the championship title in the prize money tournament.
