Chevella medical students protest over unpaid stipends and poor college facilities

Medical students at the Patnam Mahender Reddy Medical College in Chevella, Hyderabad, staged a protest on Tuesday to demand the immediate release of their pending stipends and the provision of basic campus facilities. The demonstration highlighted growing frustration among the student body regarding their living and working conditions on the campus.
The protesting students gathered to voice their concerns over a lack of essential amenities, specifically pointing to the absence of safe drinking water and adequate hostel accommodation. They also demanded improvements to other basic infrastructure and amenities across the college premises.
According to the students, the protest was organized after the college management failed to address their grievances. The students alleged that they had submitted repeated applications to the administration detailing their difficulties, but their pleas had been ignored.
Sources reported that the management of the Patnam Mahender Reddy Medical College had been turning a deaf ear to the students' problems for the past 10 days. The prolonged inaction from the administration led the students to take direct action through Tuesday's protest.
The primary demands of the students focus on the immediate payment of all pending stipends and the urgent upgrade of campus facilities. The students emphasized that safe drinking water and proper hostel accommodation are fundamental needs that the college is obligated to provide.
The protesting medical students warned that their agitation and protest would continue until the college management fulfills all of their demands. They stated that they are prepared to persist with their struggle if the administration does not take immediate action to address the pending stipends and improve the campus infrastructure.
