Charminar Police Recover and Return 30 Lost Mobile Phones to Owners

The Charminar police successfully recovered and returned 30 lost or stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners during a special programme held at the Charminar police station on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The recovery of the electronic devices was made possible through detailed technical investigations and the active utilization of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.

At the distribution event organized within the Charminar police station premises, Charminar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) P. Chandra Shekar personally handed over the recovered mobile phones to the respective complainants. According to the police, the recovered mobile phones belonged to local citizens who had lost their devices under different circumstances and had subsequently lodged formal complaints with the authorities.

The recovery operation highlights the role of the CEIR portal and technical investigation techniques in tracking down missing mobile devices. The police department emphasized that these tools are critical in ensuring that lost property is traced and returned to the public.

Following the handover event, the Charminar police issued an advisory urging the public to report any lost or stolen mobile phones without delay. They advised citizens to file reports immediately at the nearest police station or to register the details of the missing devices directly on the CEIR portal.

According to law enforcement officials, prompt reporting by the public is a key factor in the successful recovery of mobile devices. The police stated that registering the details as soon as possible helps authorities quickly block the missing devices to prevent unauthorized use, trace their coordinates, and recover them for their owners.
