Charminar Police Counsel 1,022 Youngsters in Week-Long Operation Chabutra

The Hyderabad police counselled 1,022 youngsters found unnecessarily wandering on roads and public spaces during late-night hours as part of a week-long 'Operation Chabutra' conducted across the Charminar zone from August 15 to August 20.

During the drive, police personnel engaged with the youngsters to warn them about the risks and legal consequences of engaging in unlawful activities and associating with anti-social elements. In instances where rules were breached, officers registered e-Petty Cases as a preventive and deterrent measure against repeated late-night roaming.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Charminar Zone Kiran Khare appealed to parents to take an active role in supervising their children. The DCP urged families to closely monitor their children's activities and movements, particularly during late-night hours, and to advise them against gathering unnecessarily on public roads.

The police also turned their attention to local commercial establishments, issuing strict warnings to medical shop owners in the area. Authorities cautioned pharmacy operators against keeping their premises open late at night under the guise of dispensing medicines while selling snacks, cold drinks, and other items that facilitate gatherings of youngsters.

DCP Khare warned that stringent legal action would be initiated against any commercial establishments found violating operating norms or encouraging youth to congregate outside their shops during the night.
