Chandanagar SI and Constable Caught by ACB for Allegedly Accepting Bribe

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught a Sub-Inspector and a constable from the Chandanagar police station in Hyderabad red-handed on Saturday while allegedly accepting a Rs 75,000 bribe in connection with a criminal case.
The apprehended personnel have been identified as Sub-Inspector B Balraj and Constable B Raghavendra Kumar.
According to the ACB, the duo allegedly demanded the bribe from the complainant to conduct an investigation and file a chargesheet in an ongoing criminal case.
Investigators also discovered that portions of the bribe had been accepted prior to the trap. SI Balraj had allegedly received Rs 20,000 in cash, while Constable Raghavendra Kumar had allegedly taken Rs 10,000 through a UPI transaction.
With the earlier transactions combined with the Rs 75,000 handed over during the trap, the total alleged bribe demanded and received by the duo amounted to Rs 1.05 lakh.
ACB officials stated that further investigation into the case is currently underway.
