Centre Confers IPS Status on Seven Non-Cadre SPs in Telangana

HYDERABAD — The Central government has conferred Indian Police Service (IPS) status on seven non-cadre superintendent of police (SP) level officers serving in Telangana.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs issued an official order regarding the conferment to the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Telangana state government, coming into effect on Tuesday.
Among the officers elevated to the IPS cadre are Puligilla Ravinder and B. Sri Baladevi.
The decision was finalized by the Union home ministry following a review of proposals submitted by the Telangana state police department. The ministry evaluated the officers based on their service records and performance before approving their elevation to the prestigious service.
