Centralized Kitchen Inaugurated at Manthani to Provide Breakfast to 40,052 Students

A state-of-the-art centralized community kitchen was inaugurated at the Agricultural Market Yard in Manthani, Peddapalli district, to provide nutritious breakfasts to 40,052 government school students. The facility was opened by Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs Duddila Sridhar Babu.

The kitchen will serve students across 694 government schools and 17 junior colleges located in 14 mandals of Peddapalli district and five mandals of Bhupalpally district under the Manthani constituency. The project is an initiative under the Telangana School Breakfast Programme, implemented in partnership with the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation India (HKMCF India).

The facility was established through a joint collaboration involving the Telangana government, HKMCF India, and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). The state government provided an 8,000-square-foot shed at the Agricultural Market Yard, while SCCL funded the kitchen's construction and machinery under its Corporate Social Responsibility programme. HKMCF India built the facility in 45 days and will oversee its daily operations.

Breakfast meals will be prepared each school working day following menus developed in consultation with the National Institute of Nutrition and the Indian Institute of Millet Research. The distribution operations feature artificial intelligence and real-time automated tracking systems to monitor meal dispatches, vehicle routes, and arrival times at schools.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Swamiji, President of HKMCF India and Regional President of The Akshaya Patra Foundation for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, alongside public representatives and government officials.

Speaking at the event, Minister Sridhar Babu noted that the kitchen will deliver fresh, hygienic meals to remote and underserved communities across the two districts, serving mandals including Manthani, Peddapalle, Ramagundam, Mahadevpur, and Palimela.
