CCTV Footage Reveals Suspected Kodad Road Accident Was Actually Murder

A suspected road accident death on June 30 in Kodad town, near Khammam X Roads, has been revealed as a murder after police analyzed CCTV footage. The footage showed that the victim, 30-year-old labourer Yakub Pasha, was allegedly kicked to death by an intoxicated man following an altercation.
The victim, Yakub Pasha, was a resident of Naya Nagar in Kodad. The accused has been identified as 23-year-old P Mahesh, a labourer residing in Srirangapuram, Kodad.
According to the police, the incident began around 9:00 PM on June 30. Mahesh was consuming liquor at a local bar near Khammam X Roads when he picked up an argument with three local men—Ramesh, Rama Rao, and Khader—who were seated at the same table. The altercation escalated, and Mahesh and Rama Rao assaulted each other.
During the clash, Yakub entered the bar and witnessed Mahesh being roughed up by the three men. Kodad Town CI K Shiva Shankar stated that Yakub intervened to pacify the trio and stop the assault, successfully sending Mahesh away from the premises.
A short while later, Yakub stepped out of the bar and noticed Mahesh wandering nearby in a highly intoxicated state. Hoping to prevent further trouble, Yakub tried to avoid him.
However, Mahesh, in his drunken condition, mistakenly assumed that Yakub was part of the group that had attacked him inside the bar. Mahesh kicked Yakub as the victim tried to move away.
The assault resulted in Yakub's death, which was initially believed to be the result of a road accident. The truth was uncovered only after the police analyzed CCTV footage from the area, which clearly captured the assault and led to the identification of Mahesh.
