Bus tickets to LB Nagar found on body of six-fold murder suspect Raj Kumar

On Tuesday, police investigators recovered bus tickets to LB Nagar from the body of Raj Kumar, the sole accused in the murder of six people, providing a crucial lead to reconstruct his final 63 hours. Raj Kumar's body was discovered on Monday in a remote area of Penjerla village near Kothur, approximately 20 kilometers from his residence in Daivalaguda village.

The recovered tickets were for a bus heading to LB Nagar in Hyderabad. Investigators have successfully identified the bus and are currently tracing its driver and conductor to establish the deceased suspect's movements after he fled the crime scene.

According to the police, Raj Kumar is believed to have abandoned his vehicle near Thimmapur village before boarding the bus to LB Nagar. A senior police officer noted that the suspect’s mobile phone, which was recovered from his body, had remained switched off throughout his flight, making it impossible for investigators to trace his movements through location data.

Prior to finding his body, 13 police search teams had conducted extensive searches at hotels, lodges, railway stations, and potential escape routes. The discovery of his body, found alongside an empty one-litre herbicide bottle, led police to suspect he died by suicide.

Although the sole suspect is dead, police stated that the investigation will continue to ensure the case reaches a logical conclusion. Officials plan to submit a final report to the court instead of a chargesheet. Meanwhile, after Raj Kumar's family refused to claim his body following a postmortem at Chevella Government Hospital, police and the Chevella Municipality conducted his last rites at a local cremation ground in Shabad mandal late on Monday night.

The victims of the mass murder included a minor girl who had previously filed a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case against Raj Kumar. The Telangana government has extended financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to the sole survivor of the family, a differently abled girl, and offered her admission to a rehabilitation institution in Hyderabad or Secunderabad for long-term care.
