BRS Welcomes High Court Order to Remove HYDRAA Chief KV Ranganath

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has welcomed the Telangana High Court's direction ordering the immediate removal of HYDRAA Commissioner KV Ranganath in Hyderabad for repeatedly violating judicial orders and trespassing into private properties. Speaking to mediapersons on Monday, BRS general secretary RS Praveen Kumar described the High Court's intervention as a major setback and a slap in the face for the Congress state government and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Addressing the media, Praveen Kumar criticized the functioning of the executive agency, which was formally constituted through Government Order 99 (GO 99) shortly after the Congress administration assumed office in Telangana. He alleged that the enforcement body has been systematically used as an instrument to target the homes of poor residents across the state.

Praveen Kumar pointed out that the HYDRAA Commissioner currently faces 63 contempt of court cases, arguing that this high volume of legal challenges reflects the agency's improper conduct. He stated that the High Court’s observations regarding the agency's actions raise serious questions about the current state administration's oversight.

Alleging selective enforcement by the authorities, the BRS leader questioned whether separate rules were being applied to underprivileged citizens compared to relatives of the Chief Minister. Furthermore, Praveen Kumar accused the state government of employing HYDRAA's operations to further the real estate interests of Congress leaders.

Praveen Kumar emphasized that government officials must function strictly within the framework of the law. He asserted that merely replacing Commissioner KV Ranganath would not alter the agency's functioning unless the state government fundamentally changed its political approach.

Reiterating an earlier promise made by BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Praveen Kumar reaffirmed that HYDRAA will be completely disbanded on the first day a BRS government assumes office. He warned that upon returning to power, the BRS administration will examine every file related to HYDRAA's activities and take action against any officials found guilty of wrongdoing.
