BRS Urges Assembly Ethics Panel to Review CM Revanth Reddy's Remarks

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has urged the Telangana Legislative Assembly's Ethics Committee to examine alleged abusive language and inappropriate conduct by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other ruling party leaders in the House, Ethics Committee member and former Legislative Affairs Minister V. Prashanth Reddy said on Saturday.

Speaking to media persons at the Assembly in Hyderabad, Prashanth Reddy stated that the BRS has submitted a formal written complaint accompanied by video evidence against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and MLAs Danam Nagender, Veerlapalli Shankar, and Mandula Samuel regarding their conduct and remarks during House proceedings.

The Ethics Committee convened on Saturday to discuss complaints filed against Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy regarding his conduct in the Assembly. Prashanth Reddy contended that the matter concerning Kaushik Reddy had been placed on the committee's agenda based entirely on statements from Congress members.

Prashanth Reddy questioned the inclusion of the item, noting that 23 Congress legislators had been made to speak on the day the controversy surrounding Kaushik Reddy arose, asking how that could be treated as the overall mood of the House. He said the BRS presented strong arguments during the meeting and demanded that Kaushik Reddy be given an opportunity to present his side before the panel.

During the committee meeting, members from various political parties reviewed video recordings of the Assembly proceedings before sharing their views. Prashanth Reddy said the BRS specifically requested the Chairman to take up discussions on the language used by the Chief Minister.

According to Prashanth Reddy, the committee Chairman assured the BRS delegation that a decision regarding their request and formal complaint would be taken.
