BRS to Launch Weeklong Statewide Agitation Against Telangana Congress Govt from September 2

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will launch a weeklong statewide campaign across Telangana from September 2, protesting against the Congress government over its alleged failure to fulfill electoral commitments as it marks 1,000 days in office.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao instructed all party MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and senior leaders to actively participate in the series of protest programmes organised across the state. The announcement was made during a tele-conference held with party leaders.

Rama Rao stated that the Congress party assumed power after making extensive pledges, including 420 promises, 13 declarations, and six guarantees, assuring the public that these measures would be implemented within 100 days. However, he alleged that even after 1,000 days in governance, the Congress administration had failed to fully deliver on even a single promise.

During the tele-conference, Rama Rao remarked that citizens across Telangana were dissatisfied with alleged administrative failures, corruption, and misgovernance. He directed party cadres to interact directly with the public to highlight the state government's policies, administrative shortfalls, and alleged irregularities.

As part of the seven-day agitation, BRS leaders plan to meet various groups, including women, farmers, youth, students, Dalits, Backward Classes (BCs), and tribals in their respective constituencies. Rama Rao indicated that the programmes should be tailored to address the specific issues faced by each demographic group rather than following a uniform format.

To publicise pending commitments, the party will distribute “Baaki Cards” to the public. These cards are intended to highlight promised benefits and financial assistance that have allegedly remained unpaid, including accumulated monthly financial support promised to agricultural labourers, senior citizens, women, students, and youth.

Rama Rao also directed the party cadre to raise awareness regarding the alleged failure of the state government to clear more than ₹12,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues. He called on party workers to take the issue to colleges across the state to initiate wider public discussion regarding its impact on students and their education.
