BRS MLA K Sanjay Criticises Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Over Welfare Schemes

BRS Jagtial MLA K Sanjay on Friday criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy during a press conference at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, targeting the Chief Minister over remarks regarding black magic and alleging disruptions in state welfare schemes.

Sanjay stated that the Chief Minister's references to black magic and occult practices were inappropriate for a modern society. He questioned the message such language sends to students and the public, advising the Chief Minister to exercise restraint in public remarks.

Addressing governance issues, the Jagtial legislator raised concerns about the state's new pension application forms, claiming they lack a separate column for beedi workers. He noted that beedi workers received pension support under the previous K Chandrashekhar Rao-led government after being ignored in united Andhra Pradesh, and questioned whether those existing pensions would be withdrawn.

Sanjay accused the Congress government of curtailing overall pension coverage while allocating heavy funds toward publicity. He pointed out that the previous BRS administration provided pensions to 45 lakh individuals and demanded clarity regarding the addition of new beneficiaries and the reported deletion of existing ones.

The MLA also highlighted delays and alleged discontinuations of key welfare initiatives, including KCR Kits and the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes. He alleged that financial assistance under the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak programs is being delayed until after childbirth rather than being distributed at the time of marriage.

Additionally, Sanjay objected to the practice of printing photographs of the Chief Minister and Ministers on ration cards. He urged the government to curb wasteful publicity expenditure and focus resources on the effective execution of welfare schemes across Telangana.
