BRS Leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail Demands Probe Into Raidurg Waqf Land Auction

On Friday, July 3, 2026, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail demanded a judicial inquiry into the auction of Waqf land at Raidurg in Hyderabad. Speaking to the media, the senior leader called for an immediate halt to any final transfer, registration, or further alienation of the property, which belongs to the Jamia Nizamia institution, until its legal status is independently verified.
Sohail raised concerns over the protection of Waqf properties in the state, alleging that the auction of the Raidurg land has created significant doubts that need to be addressed. He urged the Telangana state government to take swift action to ensure complete transparency in the matter.
To ensure a fair probe, the BRS leader demanded that all Waqf and revenue records relating to the Raidurg property be secured and preserved. Sohail stated that preserving these official documents is necessary to facilitate an impartial investigation and to prevent any tampering with crucial records.
Sohail further called upon the state government to suspend all ongoing proceedings related to the land transaction. He warned that taking any irreversible action before a judicial inquiry is completed could permanently harm and adversely affect the interests of the Waqf institution.
Concluding his address, the BRS leader urged authorities to take active measures to safeguard Waqf properties across the entire state of Telangana. He emphasized the need for appropriate legal actions to prevent any alleged encroachment or unauthorized transfer of these lands in the future.
