BRS Holds Protests in Adilabad and Ichoda Over Welfare Schemes

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders and cadre, including a large number of women, staged a dharna in front of the District Collectorate in Adilabad on Tuesday, demanding that the state government continue the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes for the benefit of poor families.
The demonstration in Adilabad was led by former minister Jogu Ramanna. Speaking to media persons at the protest site, Ramanna alleged that the Telangana government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is planning to drop the Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes using High Court directives as a pretext.
Ramanna pointed out that the two welfare programmes, which were introduced by former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during his rule, have supported lakhs of economically disadvantaged families across the state. He warned that the public will not remain silent if the state government moves to withdraw or dismantle the schemes.
Simultaneously, BRS workers led by Boath MLA Anil Jadhav staged a rasta roko in Ichoda, raising slogans and demanding the uninterrupted continuation of both Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak.
Several key party functionaries participated in the protest programmes across the district. Attendees included Adilabad BRS party president Ajay and senior leaders Sajiduddin, Younus Akbani, Dasari Ramesh, Jangili Prashanth, Swarupa Rani, Bodagam Mamatha, Parveen, Anajali, Saleem, Dharmapal, and Karuna.
