BRS Demands Full Disclosure on Denied Clearance for CM Revanth Reddy's US Tour

In Hyderabad, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has demanded that the Central and Telangana State governments place all details before the public regarding the denial of political clearance for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s proposed visit to the United States.
BRS MLC Sravan sought an explanation from the Union Government regarding the exact meaning of the term "Inappropriate" used by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). He asked the Centre to clarify which specific programmes or meetings were allegedly inconsistent with the Chief Minister’s official position or the stated purpose of the tour, and why objections were raised.
Sravan also highlighted a lack of clarity in the official schedule regarding the individuals and institutions the Chief Minister was scheduled to meet during the tour from August 27 to 30. He demanded that the complete itinerary, details of meetings, and the names of those who extended invitations be made public.
Referring to reports circulating that political clearance was denied because the Chief Minister was scheduled to meet New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Sravan questioned why the Mayor's name did not appear in the official schedule if that was the case. He stated that the governments should not use Mamdani’s name as political cover and must instead disclose the actual reasons for the cancellation.
The MLC also questioned why the Centre had granted permission for the Chief Minister’s US visit in 2024 but denied clearance in 2026. He stated that both the Centre and the State Government must explain what objections arose now that did not exist previously.
Dr. Sravan further demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy clarify whether the proposed visit was intended to attract investments to Telangana or to serve personal investment and business interests. He reiterated that the Union Government must explain the denial of clearance, while the State Government must disclose the full purpose and details of the tour to the people of the state.
