BRS Announces Week-Long Protests Against Congress Government Across Telangana

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has announced a week-long series of Statewide protests from September 2 to 8 against the Congress government, marking its 1,000 days in office and highlighting its alleged failure to implement election promises. The party also announced support for demonstrations organised by teachers and government employees on September 10.

Former Minister S Niranjan Reddy announced the schedule at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, stating that the agitations will highlight 420 promises made by the ruling party. The BRS will release a charge sheet on the government's performance and unveil a special logo at Telangana Bhavan on September 1.

On September 2, BRS cadres will stage dharnas across constituency headquarters, display "debt cards" (Baaki Cards) detailing pending promises, and hold rallies with 420-foot-long flex banners. The following day, September 3, the party will conduct farmers' conferences addressing issues related to agriculture, Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima, irrigation, power, and urea, alongside demonstrations in Hyderabad and urban centres regarding the 22A prohibited lands list.

Programmes involving senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and women, along with "Vanta Varpu" community cooking sessions, are scheduled for September 4. On September 5, rallies will focus on student and youth demands, including fee reimbursement and the job calendar promised under the Youth Declaration.

Protests addressing local issues in Adilabad and Singareni constituencies, an autorickshaw rally in Hyderabad, and village-level demonstrations over rural infrastructure will take place on September 6. On September 7, BRS leaders will submit representations during Praja Vani programmes at district and mandal headquarters, followed by district press conferences and submissions at Dr BR Ambedkar statues on September 8.

Former Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali, BRS Assembly whip KP Vivekananda, MLC Shambhipur Raju, BRS general secretary Soma Bharat Kumar, senior leaders G Deviprasad, Tula Uma, and BRSV State president Gellu Srinivas Yadav were present at the announcement.
