British Council to host virtual pre-departure briefing for UK-bound students on July 16

The British Council in Hyderabad has invited Indian students preparing for the Autumn/Winter 2026 academic intake in the United Kingdom to participate in a virtual Study UK Pre-Departure Briefing on July 16, 2026.

The online session, scheduled to take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, is designed exclusively for students who have already received either a conditional or unconditional offer from a UK higher education institution. The initiative aims to support students from Hyderabad and across India as they prepare for their upcoming departure.

This briefing aims to provide essential information and practical guidance to help students ensure a smooth transition to their new life in the UK. The session will cover vital topics including student visa applications, accommodation, travel preparations, health and wellbeing, and student life and support services.

During the event, representatives from UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) will provide the latest guidance on the student visa application process. These representatives will also be available during the session to answer specific queries that students may have about securing their visas.

Additionally, the briefing will offer guidance on day-to-day living, covering travel arrangements, packing essentials, budgeting, and adjusting to life in the UK. Students will also learn about healthcare services, insurance, safety measures, and mental health support available for international students once they arrive.

To provide a well-rounded perspective, the event will feature insights from the British Universities’ International Liaison Association (BUILA). Attendees will also hear directly from UK alumni and current students who will share their personal experiences and practical tips for navigating university life.

Students who wish to attend the Study UK Pre-Departure Briefing are required to register. To complete the registration, students can visit the official Study UK website, where they can view the full details of the session and access the registration form.
