Booth Level Officers Distribute Voter Enumeration Forms Across Madhapur

Booth level officers (BLOs) on Friday distributed voter enumeration forms across Madhapur and other parts of north and central Hyderabad as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The drive, which also serves as a month-long voter verification awareness campaign, saw election officials visiting homes to guide residents through the process.

The door-to-door initiative progressed smoothly in areas such as Madhapur, Nizampet, Bansilalpet, Bachupally, and Secunderabad. Officials reported a cooperative response from local residents, who received the forms and verified their personal details with the visiting officers.

Each distributed form comes pre-printed with the voter's name, Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number, address, serial number, part number, Assembly constituency, Parliament constituency, state, photograph, and a QR code. Voters are required to verify these details, fill in basic information, and paste a current photograph. If applicable, they must also provide their details from the previous SIR conducted in 2002.

Manoj Kumar, a BLO in Nizampet, stated that the process involves multiple visits to ensure complete coverage. "Once we distribute the forms, we will come back 4-5 days later and collect the forms from them. We will make 3 visits to each house and collect the forms," Kumar said.

While the exercise went smoothly in Madhapur and northern areas, parts of central Hyderabad experienced delays. In Musheerabad and the RTC crossroads area, several BLOs reported that they had not received enough printed forms due to printing and supply delays. Senior officials have instructed these BLOs to inform residents about the SIR exercise and assured them that forms would be delivered once stocks arrive, which is expected by Sunday.

The SIR exercise will continue until July 24, after which the draft electoral roll will be prepared and published on July 31. Local residents will have from then until August 30 to raise claims and objections, with the final electoral rolls scheduled for publication on October 1.
