Bomb Threat On Riyadh-Hyderabad Flight Triggers Security Scare At RGIA

A bomb threat received via email targeting an incoming international flight from Riyadh triggered a security scare at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad late on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The alert prompted airport authorities and various security agencies to immediately activate emergency protocols to address the situation.

The security scare began when authorities at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received an email claiming that the incoming international flight from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was carrying an explosive device. Following the receipt of the threatening email, airport authorities and security agencies were quickly mobilized to handle the potential threat.

The aircraft landed safely at the airport. Immediately after the safe landing, emergency protocols were put into action, and all passengers on board the flight were safely deboarded from the plane.

Following the deboarding of the passengers, the aircraft was subjected to a thorough and exhaustive search. The search operation was carried out by the bomb disposal squad alongside other security personnel. The team meticulously inspected the entire aircraft to look for any signs of danger.

No explosives or suspicious objects of any kind were found during the detailed inspection. Following the exhaustive search of the aircraft, the threat was officially declared to be a hoax by the security personnel. The coordinated effort between the airport authorities, security agencies, and the bomb disposal squad ensured that all safety protocols were completed swiftly.

Despite the emergency scare, the incident did not disrupt other flights. Airport operations at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport continued normally after the security clearance was given.

The RGIA Police have registered a case regarding the hoax email. Law enforcement authorities and security agencies have launched an investigation into the matter, and active efforts are currently underway to trace and identify the sender of the threatening email.
