Body of Medical Student Killed in Hit-and-Run Released at Gandhi Hospital

The body of postgraduate medical student K Priyanka was handed over to her family members at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad on Monday following an autopsy. Priyanka succumbed to severe injuries on Sunday afternoon after being critically hurt in a hit-and-run collision.

Doctors at Gandhi Hospital conducted the post-mortem examination before releasing her body to the family. Her relatives subsequently shifted her body to her native place in Gadwal district to perform the last rites.

The accident took place on Thursday outside a shopping mall in Rajamahendravaram. Priyanka was riding on a motorcycle with fellow postgraduate medical student Umesh when a car allegedly hit their vehicle and speeded away from the scene.

Priyanka sustained a severe head injury in the crash, while Umesh suffered minor injuries. She was initially taken to a local hospital in Rajamahendravaram before being shifted to a medical facility in Hyderabad for further evaluation and management.

According to officials, Priyanka died without responding to treatment at 3:32 pm on Sunday.
