Blood Donation Drives Organised Across Hyderabad for Milad-un-Nabi

Blood donation drives are being organised across Hyderabad and Vikarabad as part of preparations for Milad-un-Nabi, with community organisers and religious leaders appealing to residents to donate blood for patients requiring regular transfusions.

The initiatives coincide with the Islamic month of Rabi al-Awwal, which holds significance for Muslims as the birth month of Prophet Mohammed on its 12th day.

On Sunday, the Milad Committee Moinabad conducted a blood donation camp at ABK Function Hall in Moinabad, drawing participation from around 500 people. Organisers stated that the drive was arranged specifically to support thalassaemia and cancer patients who depend on regular blood supplies.

In Vikarabad district, another donation camp was held at the Qutb Shahi Jama Masjid in Pargi by the Milad Committee Pargi. Organisers noted that this drive was being conducted for the fifth consecutive year to serve the community.

Additional blood donation camps are scheduled across Hyderabad in the coming days. The Forum for Cultural Upgradation and Social Service (FOCUS) will hold a camp at the Asafia Library in Afzalgunj. Another camp is scheduled at Prime Function Halls in New Mallepally, organised by Congress leader Osman Mohammed Khan.

Religious figures in the city have voiced strong support for the social service initiatives. Maulana Ahsan Al Hamoomi, Khateeb of Shahi Masjid in Bagh-e-Aam, urged community members to come forward and donate blood for patients in need.

Meanwhile, Maulana Hafiz Rizwan Qureshi, Khateeb of Mecca Masjid, appealed to youngsters to maintain discipline during Milad-un-Nabi processions and avoid causing inconvenience to the public. He advised participants to refrain from rash driving, ensure celebrations do not disturb others, and focus instead on prayer and extending help to those in need.
