Blackbaud to Expand Hyderabad Operations with Second Site in Financial District

U.S.-based software solutions provider Blackbaud is set to expand its presence in Hyderabad by opening a second site in the Financial District, alongside its existing facility in HITEC City. The company expects to increase its total local headcount across both sites to at least 1,000 employees over the next 12 to 18 months, driving a significant portion of its global operations out of India, according to Rajiv Gajria, vice president and managing director of Blackbaud India.
The NASDAQ-listed company, which focuses on delivering software solutions for the non-profit sector, formally established its India office in Hyderabad in November 2025. Blackbaud currently employs around 700 people at its HITEC City facility, with plans to grow that number to approximately 800 by the end of the year before launching the new site in the Financial District.
Speaking on the company's strategy, Gajria emphasized that the Hyderabad operation is designed as a full-stack capability centre rather than a standard offshore services setup or execution outpost. The teams based in Hyderabad are engaged in core functions including product development, product management, product roadmap planning, customer operations, professional services, and customer support. Additionally, the local facility delivers supporting enterprise functions such as IT, marketing, and finance.
Headquartered in South Carolina, Blackbaud has been in existence for 45 years and has helped mobilise $100 billion for non-profit entities worldwide. Its software enables social impact organizations to digitize and scale their operations in order to reach, establish, and sustain relationships with donors. Although most of its customer base is currently located in North America, alongside an established presence in Western Europe and a growing footprint in Australia, the company is evaluating India as a potential future market, particularly given that many of its U.S. clients already operate in the country.
Gajria also noted that Blackbaud has positioned itself as an AI-first company to address rising demand for artificial intelligence tools across the social impact sector. In response, the firm intends to expand its AI capabilities across its full product stack. To support this expansion, Blackbaud is maintaining a focus on lateral hiring while recently bringing aboard its first batch of fresh graduates in Hyderabad.
