BJP Workers Assault Perkit School Principal Over Unauthorized Urdu Classes

On Saturday, local BJP workers assaulted a school principal at the Bharat Chandra School in Perkit village, located in the Armoor mandal of Nizamabad district. The assault followed a growing controversy regarding the unauthorized teaching of the Urdu language to primary school students instead of their prescribed Hindi syllabus.

Following the incident, which occurred in the presence of local police, the Armoor police registered two separate First Information Reports (FIRs). One FIR was filed regarding the teaching of Urdu without official permission, while the second FIR was registered for the physical assault on the school's principal.

The incident triggered an official investigation led by a joint team comprising the local revenue inspector, the in-charge Mandal Education Officer (MEO) of Armoor, and local police. The inquiry was initiated based on directives issued by the Nizamabad Additional Collector (Revenue) and the Armoor Sub-collector.

During the investigation on Saturday, officials examined students from Classes I, III, IV, and VII, along with the school's teaching and non-teaching staff. The probe team also questioned Principal Ameer Khan, Correspondent Mallaiah, and several parents.

According to an official statement by Armoor Inspector P Satyanarayana, the inquiry confirmed that a teacher named Huma Hania was at the center of the dispute. Hania, who was recently appointed to teach Hindi to Classes I to V, had been teaching Urdu instead of the prescribed Hindi syllabus without obtaining authorization from competent authorities.

Inspector Satyanarayana stated that multiple students confirmed their Hindi teacher taught them Urdu during regular class hours. Both Principal Ameer Khan and Correspondent Mallaiah admitted to the investigating team that they had previously received complaints from parents regarding the matter. They claimed they had subsequently directed Hania to discontinue the Urdu instruction.
