BJP Weakened BRS But Failed to Convert Momentum Into Votes, Says Nitin Nabin in Hyderabad

On Sunday, BJP national president Nitin Nabin addressed party booth presidents and karyakartas in Hyderabad, stating that while sustained efforts by Telangana BJP workers successfully weakened the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the party failed to fully convert that momentum into electoral success, allowing the Congress to come to power in the state.

Speaking to the party workers, Nabin explained that despite strong public dissatisfaction against the BRS, the political advantage slipped away from the BJP. This allowed the Congress to capitalise on the anti-incumbency wave and form the government in Telangana.

Nabin targeted the ruling Congress party, alleging that the promises made to the public have not been effectively implemented, which has led to fresh disappointment among voters. He further claimed that the current administration lacked direction and consistency.

The BJP leader also attacked the BRS, claiming the party had lost public confidence due to allegations of corruption and family-centric politics. He argued that both the Congress and BRS represented politics driven by corruption and family interests, limiting their ability to deliver people-centric governance.

To position the BJP as the honest governance alternative, Nabin urged booth presidents and party workers to strengthen booth-level structures and increase direct contact with voters. He emphasised the need for disciplined grassroots work, communicating the BJP's development agenda, and countering opposition narratives with facts.

Nabin also criticised the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) style of politics, alleging that religion-based politics had not genuinely benefited minorities despite years of representation. He claimed that unlike its rivals, the BJP has no political alignment with AIMIM and believes in inclusive development rather than appeasement.

Additionally, Nabin referred to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, calling him a proud son of Telangana who made historic contributions to the country but was neglected under Congress rule. He contrasted this with the BJP's approach of respecting national leaders based on their contributions.
