BJP Warns of Stir Over Pending Fee Reimbursement and Scholarships

BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao on Thursday warned that the party will intensify its agitation against the Revanth Reddy government until fee reimbursement dues and scholarships are released to eligible students without further delay.
Speaking at a protest demonstration organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Karimnagar, Mr. Rao asserted that the party would stand with the students. He stated that the agitation would continue until the State government relents and releases the necessary funds, accusing the administration of playing with the future of students by withholding their dues.
Mr. Rao alleged that while the previous BRS government had left nearly ₹8,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues pending, the present Congress government is also acting negligently by failing to release funds. He pointed out that the State Cabinet decided to release ₹2,000 crore in advance towards fee reimbursement only after being pulled up by the High Court, but added that not a single rupee has been disbursed so far.
Expressing concern over the backlog, Mr. Rao said nearly 20 lakh students are currently awaiting fee reimbursement. He noted that due to the delay in releasing the funds, college managements are struggling to pay faculty salaries, which is severely affecting the functioning of educational institutions.
He further stated that students and their parents are undergoing severe financial and mental stress as they remain unable to pay their tuition fees. BJYM State president Ganesh Kunde and other party leaders also addressed the gathering at the demonstration.
