BJP to Protest at Indira Park over Bhu Bharati and Section 22A Land Records

The Telangana BJP has announced that its MPs, MLAs, and MLCs, alongside affected landowners, will stage a massive protest at Indira Park's Dharna Chowk on September 5 and 6 over properties placed under the prohibited list of Section 22A.

Speaking at a press conference at the party's State office, BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy stated that the party is prepared to lay siege to the Legislative Assembly if the State government does not resolve grievances regarding alleged anomalies in the Bhu Bharati revenue portal and 22A land records by the time of the demonstration.

Mr. Reddy demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy provide a public explanation regarding alleged irregularities in land transfers and transactions across Telangana. He accused the government of misusing its authority, claiming that certain parcels of land were arbitrarily removed from the prohibited Section 22A list while others were improperly added.

According to Mr. Reddy, the Chief Minister's dismissal of allegations regarding a larger conspiracy has raised serious questions. He noted that Congress leaders, who had previously criticised irregularities within the prior BRS administration's Dharani portal, are now facing comparable accusations under the Bhu Bharati system.

Demanding transparency in revenue administration, Mr. Reddy called for the publication of a White Paper detailing all lands registered under Section 22A both before and after 2014. He further sought a forensic audit conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or a sitting judge to investigate alleged illegal land transfers, shell company transactions, and asset dealings.
