BJP Leader K. Laxman Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Obstructing Key Reforms

Rajya Sabha member and BJP OBC Morcha national president K. Laxman accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of obstructing development and national reforms through disruptions in Parliament, speaking at a press conference at the BJP office in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Laxman alleged that the Congress leader was engaging in political drama because he was unable to accept the growing global popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that the Prime Minister had strengthened India’s diplomatic relations and enhanced the country's image on the international stage.

According to Laxman, opposition parties have consistently blocked parliamentary proceedings and opposed major legislative reforms. He specifically cited opposition to initiatives including One Nation, One Election, proposed changes to the Waqf law, the abrogation of Article 370, the abolition of triple talaq, and the One Nation, One Ration scheme, alongside measures regulating digital transactions and foreign funding.

Laxman further alleged that the Congress party and its allies had obstructed the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, the legislation aimed at providing 33 per cent reservation for women in legislatures. He said the BJP remains committed to ensuring the law is implemented by 2029 and stated that the party would support the delimitation process to increase legislative seats.

Turning to state politics, the BJP leader targeted Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that the Congress-led state government was pursuing a "two-eye policy" that harmed Hindus and Sanatana Dharma. Laxman stated that the public would reject divisive politics and continue to support the central government's vision for a developed India.
