BJP Demands Release of ₹15,000 Crore Fee Reimbursement Dues in Telangana

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao concluded a two-day Maha Nirahara Deeksha at the party office, demanding that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy immediately release ₹15,000 crore in pending fee reimbursements and scholarships. The demonstration was organized to highlight the difficulties faced by 40 lakh students, parents, and college staff across the state.

Rao ended his fast on the advice of doctors following a dip in his blood pressure. The agitation was staged at the state party office after police authorities denied permission to hold the protest at Dharna Chowk. Despite ending the fast, Rao maintained that the party's agitation would continue unabated until the state government clears all outstanding educational arrears.

The protest saw participation from thousands of students, unemployed youth, and academics who gathered in solidarity. During the event, a petition featuring five lakh signatures gathered by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) was formally submitted.

Party leaders criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for not fulfilling his pre-election "Youth Declaration" commitments. Rao remarked that the Chief Minister should address the plight of local students and staff before praising education at foreign institutions such as Oxford and the London School of Economics.

BJP Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy warned that the party would launch fierce protests if the arrears are not cleared immediately, noting that colleges are currently grappling with severe staff shortages due to financial constraints.

Joining the demonstration, Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender urged the Chief Minister to consider the welfare of the state's four crore citizens and avoid endangering the academic future of 40 lakh students. Several senior leaders, including Members of Parliament K. Laxman, R. Krishnaiah, D. Arvind, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, and D.K. Aruna, along with several state MLAs, were present at the party office to support the agitation.
