BJP Backs Protesting Ayush Students at Erragadda Ayurveda College

State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao visited the ongoing protest camp of Ayush students at the Ayurveda College in Erragadda on Wednesday, extending his party's complete support to their agitation over pending stipends.

Speaking at the protest site in Hyderabad, Ramchander Rao demanded that the Telangana government immediately address the students' grievances and resolve the dispute. He stated that Ayush students must be paid stipends on a par with allopathic medical students, noting that the students have been consistently demanding the release of their long-pending dues.

The state BJP chief criticised the Congress administration in Telangana, accusing it of acting irresponsibly and discriminating against Ayush students. He stated that the stipends had been halted in 2016, describing the stoppage as a severe injustice to the medical fraternity.

Ramchander Rao urged the Telangana government to follow the example set by Andhra Pradesh, which aligned the stipends of Ayush postgraduate students and house surgeons with those of allopathic medicine students following directives from the Supreme Court. He called for immediate government intervention to ensure parity and clear all unpaid stipends without further delay.
