BJP Accuses Congress of Turning Telangana Into ATM for High Command

On Tuesday, the Telangana BJP adopted a political resolution during its state executive meeting on the outskirts of Hyderabad, accusing the ruling Congress government of betraying its mandate and turning the state into an "ATM for the Congress high command." The resolution, moved by Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman, aimed to mobilize party cadres to take the BJP's message to every household and polling booth across the state.

The party's executive meeting, held on the outskirts of Hyderabad, set the tone for the BJP's upcoming campaign against the Congress administration. In addition to the political resolution, the BJP adopted separate resolutions concerning agriculture and marking the completion of 12 years of the NDA government at the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The political resolution alleged that the Congress party had come to power in Telangana on the strength of unrealistic promises but had failed to deliver on its key assurances. The opposition party pointed to several unfulfilled welfare and developmental commitments, including the farm loan waiver, the Rythu Bharosa scheme, unemployment assistance, welfare schemes for women, and education support.

A major point of contention highlighted in the resolution was the impact of the government's policies on education. The BJP claimed that students pursuing higher education in the state have been severely affected by ongoing delays in the fee reimbursement scheme.

According to the resolution, colleges are facing severe financial strain due to these pending reimbursements from the government. Consequently, students from economically weaker families are facing significant hardships, with some being denied their certificates, prevented from appearing for examinations, or forced to pay fees out of pocket despite being eligible for the scheme. The BJP warned that these delays have put the future of thousands of students at risk.

Through this resolution, the party has instructed its cadre to carry these issues directly to the public to build momentum against the ruling government.
