BITS Hyderabad Professor Pradyumn Kumar Sahoo Elected Telangana Academy of Sciences Fellow

Prof Pradyumn Kumar Sahoo from the Department of Mathematics at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, has been elected as a Fellow of the Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS) under the Physical and Mathematical Sciences section.

The Telangana Academy of Sciences confers the fellowship on distinguished scientists, academics, and researchers in recognition of their outstanding contributions and sustained leadership in scientific research and higher education.

Prof Sahoo is an active researcher in the fields of modified gravity, general relativity, and theoretical cosmology. His academic research includes extensive work in mathematical physics and cosmological modeling.

Alongside his research and teaching responsibilities at the Hyderabad campus, Prof Sahoo serves as a Council Member of the Indian Mathematical Society (IMS). He is also a Council Member of the BRICS Association of Gravity, Astrophysics, and Cosmology (BRICS-AGAC).

In addition to the state-level recognition from TAS, Prof Sahoo was recently awarded the President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) Visiting Scientist Fellowship by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

The administration, faculty members, and students of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, congratulated Prof Sahoo on being elected to the prestigious state academy.
