Birla Science Centre to Host National Space Day Celebrations on August 22

National Space Day celebrations are scheduled to take place at the Birla Science Centre in Hyderabad on August 22, featuring a series of scientific exhibitions, competitions, and special addresses.

The programme is being organised by the G.P. Birla Archaeological, Astronomical & Scientific Research Institute in collaboration with the Indian Society of Geomatics (ISG) Hyderabad Chapter. Organisers stated that the event will highlight India’s major achievements in lunar exploration and space science.

Dr S.V.S. Narayana Murty, chairman and managing director of Midhani, will deliver the keynote address on India's space programme. His lecture, titled “India in Space: A Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047”, is scheduled from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Bhaskara Auditorium inside the B. M. Birla Science Museum.

The day's events will commence earlier in the morning with a poster presentation competition and public viewing from 10 am to noon at the GPBC Hall in the G. P. Birla Centre. The wider event schedule will also include an exhibition and a prize distribution ceremony, with e-certificates being awarded to all participants.
