Bhuvanagiri MP Kiran Kumar Reddy Urges Retention of HYDRAA Chief A.V. Ranganath

Bhuvanagiri Member of Parliament Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has voiced strong support for the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) and its Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, urging that the officer be retained in his position. His statement came in response to reports regarding High Court directions to relieve the Commissioner from his post.
Describing Mr. Ranganath as an efficient official who has operated without political pressure, the MP emphasized that HYDRAA is vital for safeguarding Hyderabad’s urban infrastructure. He stated that the agency plays a crucial role in protecting the city's lakes, ponds, drains, roads, and public lands from illegal encroachments.
Highlighting the achievements of the enforcement agency, Mr. Reddy claimed that HYDRAA has successfully protected government assets valued at over ₹1.5 lakh crore. He added that the agency has brought about significantly improved coordination among municipal, police, and revenue departments in managing public lands and civic infrastructure.
The parliamentarian alleged that vested interests and land mafia elements were behind the opposition to the enforcement agency. In light of this, Mr. Reddy called on citizens, social activists, and non-governmental organizations to actively support HYDRAA and spread awareness about its benefits for the future of Hyderabad.
