Bhatti Vikramarka Inaugurates India's First Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka inaugurated India's first Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam on Monday. The facility, developed by Godrej Agrovet Limited, brings together every stage of the oil palm value chain, including seed genetics, nursery, research and development, milling, and an upcoming refinery under one roof.

The complex represents a cumulative investment of Rs 300 crore once fully operational. Its processing mill is the first established by a private company in Telangana, commencing operations with a capacity of 30 tonnes per hour, which is designed to expand up to 60 tonnes per hour.

Godrej Agrovet aims to use the complex to scale processing capacity in alignment with its target to expand oil palm plantation coverage in Telangana from the current 10,000 hectares to 30,000 hectares by 2030. The complex includes a seed garden established in partnership with global companies, an R&D center to develop hybrid planting material optimized for local climatic conditions, and a Samadhan Centre offering advisory services and farm inputs to farmers.

Several dignitaries attended the inauguration, including Minister for Revenue and Housing Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao, Minister for IT E&C D. Sridhar Babu, and Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy. Company representatives present included Godrej Industries Group Chairperson Nadir Godrej, Godrej Agrovet Chairperson Designate Burjis Godrej, and Godrej Agrovet MD & CEO Sunil Kataria.

Speaking at the inauguration, Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the complex serves as a landmark for Telangana's oil palm mission and its vision to become a leading edible oil producer. Burjis Godrej stated that the integrated facility sets a benchmark for sustainable oil palm processing while contributing to national edible oil self-reliance.
