Bengaluru businessman sentenced to life imprisonment for 2017 Attapur murder

On Friday, July 17, 2026, a local court in Rajendranagar sentenced a Bengaluru-based leather businessman to life imprisonment for the murder of his business associate in Attapur.

The convict, Nisar Ahmed, was found guilty of murdering his associate, Neesar Ahmed. In addition to the life sentence, the court directed the convict to pay a fine of Rs 15,000.

The incident occurred in April 2017, after the two men had rented a flat at Sajid Residency, located in Santosh Nagar Colony. A few days later, the apartment's watchman noticed a foul smell coming from the locked residence.

Upon opening the locked flat, the decomposed body of Neesar Ahmed was discovered in the bathroom. An examination of the body revealed that the victim had suffered head injuries, and a rope was found tied around his neck.

A police investigation into the death revealed that Nisar Ahmed had murdered his business associate following a dispute. After committing the murder, Nisar Ahmed locked the flat and fled the scene. He was later arrested by the police.

Following the trial, the Rajendranagar court delivered its verdict on Friday, sentencing Nisar Ahmed to life imprisonment for the crime.
