Begumpet Police Book Hotel Chairperson and Employee Over Harassment, Theft Claims

Begumpet police have registered two separate cross-cases following a dispute between a hotel management and one of its women employees, with both sides accusing each other of serious offences involving allegations of theft and sexual harassment.
The dispute centres on a hotel located in the Begumpet area, involving the establishment's chairperson and a woman who was employed as his secretary. Following complaints filed by both parties, the local police stepped in to investigate the conflicting claims.
On August 19, Begumpet police formally registered a case against the secretary based on a complaint lodged by the hotel's human resources manager. According to the HR manager's complaint, the woman allegedly stole Rs 1 lakh in cash directly from the chairperson's office bag.
The hotel representative further stated in the complaint that when the woman was questioned and confronted regarding the missing money, she filed a false sexual harassment complaint against the chairperson in an effort to divert attention away from the theft allegations. Furthermore, the management alleged that the employee created a disturbance at the hotel premises and issued threats to harm herself if any formal action was initiated against her regarding the alleged theft.
Conversely, the woman employee filed a counter-complaint with the police, levelling serious accusations against the hotel chairperson. In her complaint, she alleged that the chairperson had sexually harassed her. She maintained that the allegation regarding the theft of Rs 1 lakh was completely fabricated by the management after she refused to yield to the chairperson's demands for sexual favours.
Following the receipt of both complaints, the Begumpet police registered two separate cases to probe the matter from both angles. Authorities are examining the sequence of events and the claims raised by both the hotel management and the employee.
