BC Leaders Meet at Minister Quarters to Finalise Hyderabad Statue Dates

Backward Classes (BC) Ministers, legislators, and senior leaders convened a meeting on Saturday at the residence of Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar in Minister Quarters, Hyderabad. The leaders gathered to discuss finalizing dates for the inauguration of statues of social reformers Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, as well as to review welfare scheme implementation across the state.

The meeting was attended in person by Minister Konda Surekha and Vakiti Srihari, along with several BC MLAs and prominent political leaders. Notable attendees included Government Advisor K. Keshava Rao, senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao, BC Commission Chairman Niranjan, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, and Government Whips Adi Srinivas and Beerla Ilaiah. MLAs Makhan Singh Raj Thakur, Naveen Yadav, and E. Shankaraya were also present at the minister's quarters. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud and MLA Danam Nagender joined the proceedings online.

According to sources, a key agenda item was fixing suitable dates for the inauguration of the statues of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, which have been installed near the HMDA Grounds in Hyderabad. Additionally, leaders deliberated on the proposed unveiling of the statue of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud on Tank Bund, with ongoing efforts to finalize dates for the ceremonies.

Beyond statue unveilings, the assembly thoroughly reviewed the execution of various welfare schemes managed through the BC Welfare Department. Leaders assessed whether the intended benefits of these welfare programs are effectively reaching people at the grassroots level and discussed measures required to improve delivery mechanisms.

The meeting further focused on initiatives aimed at strengthening the economic empowerment of weaker sections, ensuring greater access to development programs and welfare opportunities. Discussions were also held on expediting the completion of Atma Gaurava Bhavans and formulating strategies to further strengthen the party's organizational structure across the State.
