Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy Defends Remarks on Revanth Reddy Cabinet

Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy defended his recent criticism of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s administration during a meeting in Banswada in Nizamabad district on Thursday, asserting that he had only spoken the truth. The legislator, who is facing defection charges after switching to the Congress from the BRS, addressed mounting criticism from Telangana Congress leaders regarding his public remarks about executive coordination.

The row erupted after Srinivas Reddy stated on Tuesday that there was a visible lack of coordination between Cabinet Ministers and the Chief Minister. He alleged that Ministers were not following the Chief Minister’s explicit instructions. According to Srinivas Reddy, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had promised that pending development works would be completed within six months, but the responsible Ministers were failing to release the necessary funds to carry out those works.

The statements triggered an angry reaction from state Congress leaders, who publicly questioned Srinivas Reddy’s intentions and motives behind criticising the administration's executive function.

Defending his stance at the Banswada meeting, Srinivas Reddy denied any political motive behind his comments. In a video circulating on social media, the Banswada MLA questioned what was wrong with speaking the truth about Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He emphasized that his life was dedicated to the public and that constituency development remained his top priority. He further clarified that his decision to switch political parties was made entirely for the welfare of the people and not for monetary gain.

Reflecting on governance in his constituency, Srinivas Reddy commended the work done under both political regimes. He noted that the previous BRS government had executed numerous welfare and development programs in Banswada, while acknowledging that the current Revanth Reddy government has also taken up several works. He added that he acknowledges and appreciates the good work accomplished by both administrations.
