Bank of Baroda hands Rs 2,811 crore dividend cheque to Nirmala Sitharaman

Bank of Baroda presented a dividend cheque of Rs 2,811 crore to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Hyderabad on Monday, June 29, 2026. The dividend payout follows the bank's record-breaking financial performance for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.

The dividend cheque was handed over directly to the Finance Minister by Bank of Baroda's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Debadatta Chand. The presentation took place in the presence of Sanjay Malhotra, who serves as the Secretary of the Department of Financial Services.

Also representing the bank at the event in Hyderabad were Executive Directors Lalit Tyagi, Sanjay Mudaliar, Lal Singh, and Beena Vaheed.

According to an official press release issued by the bank on Monday, the substantial dividend payout reflects Bank of Baroda's strong financial performance over the past year. It also highlights the institution's continued commitment to creating long-term value for all of its stakeholders.

For the financial year 2025-26, the bank declared a dividend of Rs 8.50 per equity share. This payout represents 425 percent of the share's face value of Rs 2.

The 2025-26 financial year was a landmark period for the public sector lender. For the first time in its history, Bank of Baroda crossed the Rs 20,000 crore milestone in annual profits. The bank reported a record standalone net profit of Rs 20,021 crore.

Alongside the record profits, the bank also expanded its overall operations. Bank of Baroda's global business officially surpassed the Rs 30 lakh crore mark as of March 31, 2026.
