Banjara Hills Police Investigate Missing Infant Body at Panjagutta Crematorium

The Banjara Hills police have launched an investigation following a complaint regarding the disappearance of a six-month-old infant's body from the Panjagutta crematorium in Hyderabad. The family raised the alarm on Monday after returning to the facility to perform the last rites for their second deceased twin, only to discover that the body of their first child could not be located.

According to reports, the incident began when a woman gave birth to premature twins at approximately six months of pregnancy. The first infant died on the Saturday following birth.

Following the death of the first twin, the family members brought the body to the Panjagutta crematorium for the final rites. The family reportedly paid Rs 2,500 to the crematorium staff for performing the last rites.

On Sunday night, the second infant also passed away. On Monday, the grieving family members returned to the Panjagutta crematorium to arrange the last rites for the second child. They requested that the crematorium staff perform the burial rites directly beside the spot where the first infant had been buried.

However, the family was shocked to learn that they could not locate the body of the first infant. The grieving parents enquired with the crematorium staff regarding the whereabouts and location of the missing body.

Following the unexpected discovery, the family lodged a formal complaint with the authorities. The Banjara Hills police have received the complaint and are currently investigating the matter.
