Banjara Hills Housing Societies Placed on Section 22-A Prohibited Properties List

Several residential colonies and housing societies in Banjara Hills have been included in the government's Section 22-A prohibited properties list, restricting property sales, transfers, and mortgages in the area.

According to official sources, properties under survey numbers 102 and 102/1 have been placed on the prohibited list. Residents discovered the development when property owners attempted to sell their flats and faced registration bans at the registration department.

Among the affected properties is Stone Valley Apartments, a residential complex constructed more than 20 years ago, which has now been classified as ceiling land. Other housing societies named on the prohibited list include Godavari, Radhika, and Yamuna Nagar, as well as a section of MLA Colony in Banjara Hills across various survey numbers.

Revenue officials stated that the government has claims over specific land parcels within these survey numbers, leading to their classification under the prohibited category. Under Section 22 of the Registration Act, properties included on the prohibited list cannot be legally sold, transferred, or mortgaged.

In response to the restrictions, State Election Commissioner and former Special Chief Secretary I. Rani Kumudini, serving as the president of Stone Valley Apartments, submitted a formal letter to the Hyderabad Collector. The letter requested the removal of the Stone Valley residential complex, located at House Number 8-2-416 on Road Number 4 in Banjara Hills, from the prohibited property registry.
