The Balapur police have registered a case against a group of AIMIM workers, including a local leader, for allegedly threatening Congress party activists and warning to burn down their office in Wadi-e-Saleheen, Shaheen Nagar. The alleged incidents of intimidation occurred during election-related activities on June 30 and July 1, 2026, leading to a formal police investigation.

The complainant, 34-year-old Syed Niyaz, who is a Congress party worker and a resident of Wadi-e-Saleheen, filed the complaint with the Balapur police. He detailed two separate confrontations involving local AIMIM members in the area.

According to the police, the first incident took place on June 30, 2026. Niyaz was present at the Congress party office attending to election-related tasks when Mohd. Abdulla Sadiq, a local leader of the AIMIM party, arrived at the venue. Sadiq was accompanied by a group of AIMIM workers.

The accused allegedly confronted Niyaz and threatened to burn the Congress office down if it was not removed from the site. The complainant also alleged that the group threatened him with a knife during the altercation. Furthermore, the AIMIM workers allegedly used foul language to abuse the Congress party in-charge and warned other Congress workers not to enter the Wadi-e-Saleheen area.

The second confrontation occurred on July 1, 2026, in the vicinity of the same party office. A group of Congress workers, which included the 64th Division BLAS in-charge Fazil Qadri, were carrying out a door-to-door election campaign.

During the campaign, an individual identified as Thaleb, along with several other AIMIM workers, allegedly confronted the Congress campaign team. The group allegedly abused the campaigners and threatened them with dire consequences for conducting their political activities in the area.

Following the formal complaint lodged by Niyaz, the Balapur police registered a case against the accused AIMIM workers. The police department has confirmed that an investigation into the allegations has been launched to determine the facts of the incidents.
